Note on Today’s Music: I play a lot of Jimmy Buffett. One day my mother heard this and asked what it was. Whenever I put in a Jimmy Buffett tape/CD after that, she’d ask if this song was on it.

I’m sorry about your mom. I’m coming up on the 4th anniversary of my mom’s passing. She and I would go on drives and listen to Jimmy Buffett’s Feeding Frenzy Live and he cracked her up. He is happy making. Hugs to you. maggie

I happened to take my mom to a Buffett concert in Vegas right after she got her cancer diagnosis. We had the best time and the memories comfort me when I miss her.
May Buffett and happy memories bring you peace. It’s those changes in attitudes, changes in latitudes… Nothing remains quite the same.

First my deepest sympathy and empathy. It will be 5 years since losing my father.
You never forget their love, the pain stays, but the good memories make you laugh harder as time goes on, instead of making you melancholy.
Think it’s fab that your mom dug Pencil Thin Mustache -great fun song, and a tune my mom would love as well. Think I’ll burn her a Buffet CD and include that tune especially.

Oh, El Guapo, I am struck by this sad news. I’m so sorry for your loss. I wonder if this is related to the hospital visits? You must have been under a considerable amount of stress for some time and yet you blogged with grace and never complained about the strain. I don’t think there is any loss greater than that of a parent. Your mom must have been a lovely woman to have had a son as thoughtful and considerate as you.
